Cambodia Update!!
Monday, December 29, 2025
Hi friends! So sorry for the late update, been super busy and still adjusting here in Cambodia! So much has happened in the last 2 weeks!! The Lord has been so sweet to me and my heart for this place and these people is only growing more and more each day. Our ministry has been amazing and I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to do what I am doing, although it looks nothing like what we had originally planned.

WAR UPDATE!
For those of you who don't know, in July of 2025, conflict between Cambodia and Thailand begun due to a temple on Cambodias side of the border that Thailand wanted. There was a ceasefire that lasted about 5 months, but only a day or so before we left Colorado, Thailand started bombing near the border again, and this has been continuing since. My team and I are safe where we are, but many people have had to flee from their homes and some have even lost loved ones. Because of this, all of our ministry plans have shifted to focus on war relief and kids ministry in internal refugee camps. But here is some good news: as of Saturday, we have another ceasefire!! We are leaning into hope and praying that this will last!!
WHAT MINISTRY HAS LOOKED LIKE!
We were supposed to be staying on base in Siem Reap for about 5 weeks and then head to a base in Pailin for the last 7 weeks of outreach. However, on December 14, we left base to go to a village in Srê Noy, where we stayed for a little over two weeks. We stayed near a church that was hosting over 50 families fleeing from the war, which is where a lot of our ministry has taken place. We have focused on kids ministry, distribution, taking care of needs (like cleaning hair and brushing teeth,) and teaching English. We also went daily to a temple where they are hosting over 150 families and did ministry there, although that did look different considering we were in a buddhist temple where we could hardly speak the name of Jesus. Ministry times were often tough and even felt repetitive after a while, but I learned so much and couldn't be more grateful to have been there in that place in that specific timing!

WHAT LIFE AT THE VILLAGE WAS LIKE & WHAT THE LORD TAUGHT ME!
One of the very first things I heard the Lord speak when I made it to Cambo was that I was going to be giving up comfortability. I had no idea what that meant in the beginning, but now looking back I realize He was talking about physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort. I made the promise to Him in the very beginning that I am saying yes to ALL of it! I am not here to be comfortable, I am here to be challenged and to grow deeper in my reverence of our good Father. Walking into the house that we lived in at the village, I immediately saw the physical side of it. I found myself sleeping on a tiny mattress on the floor and at times was showering with a tub of water and a bucket. Somehow, by the grace of God, it didn't bother me. I chose to lean into my yes and walked in joyful obedience. Why would I be here walking in obedience and doing missions if I didn't do it with joy? Having my eyes fixed on Jesus actually made me grateful for my living conditions. Thank You, Jesus, that I have a roof over my head and food at the table, even if that means eating rice 3 times a day 7 days a week. Thank you, Jesus, that I get to give up a comfortable bed and warm showers to better Your kingdom. It is my greatest honor to be here, giving up all that I've ever known, for the One who gave His life for me!

SOMETHING FUN!
We came back this weekend to celebrate Christmas and have a sabbath, and it was so sweet! We all got gifts from our family and had a team lunch. It was so great to get to rest and spend time with each other outside of ministry!

WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW?
We originally had planned on going back to the village after sabbath, but our leaders heard the Lord say we need to be in Siem Reap this week. There is another team that is going to go take our place in the village and continue the work that we've been doing. This week, we will be doing some ministry around Siem Reap, like helping pioneer a church and doing street evangelism. We will spend a lot of time asking God what to do next. We are actually supposed to leave this Friday for Pailin for the second half of outreach, but when are unsure when or if that will be happening. Other than that, most of our time will actually be more geared towards internal ministry. We are going to be focusing on where our hearts are and deepening our "why" for being in Cambodia. The last couple weeks have been very physically exhausting, so this week will give us some more time to rest in that area. Instead, it will be a very spiritually challenging week, but we all know that this is what we are supposed to be doing. Please be praying that the Lord will speak to us and to the leaders working behind the scenes, as we are navigating something completely new and unplanned! It is no question that the Lord's hand of protection and provision has been over this team! We are here in this specific timing for a reason and we want to be the hands and feet of Jesus the best that we can!
Thank you guys for supporting me and praying with me! More detailed prayer points below!
PRAYER REQUESTS
Pray that the ceasefire would last! We need more than a peace of paper, we need a change of hearts!
Pray that the Khmer people would feel peace during these times. May all spirits of fear or anxiety flee in the name of Jesus!!!
Pray for patience and grace for each other and our leaders as we don't really know what our plans are. Things change in the fraction of a second and it can feel frustrating at times, but there is a purpose for all of it!
SUPPORT & GIVING
I am currently fully funded for my trip! My Venmo and CashApp are down below if you feel called to give for any reason! Thank you all for partnering with me!
